    All the Academy's courses are based around the NAW Masterclass. This is a public edit that allows everyone watching and taking notes to benefit along with the writer whose text is being edited. Every writer will have a text of up to 3000 words Masterclassed at least once on every NAW course. NAW Masterclasses are also offered on NAW Days at events and festivals around the country.

  • New 10-week NAW evening course, 23 May - 25 July

    NAW has a designed a new 10 Week Course to run in an after-work slot on Wednesdays from 23 May-25 July 2012 at the Freeword Centre in London. In this ten-week course writers will benefit from the detailed editorial feedback generated by the unique NAW Masterclass, as well as the reader response offered by a more traditional Creative Writing workshop. The visiting NAW Patrons are Orange short-listed authors Jane Harris (The Observations; Gillespie and I) and Naomi Alderman (Disobedience; The Lessons). Wednesdays: 6-8.30 p.m. Cost: £890

  • NAW in new partnership with Foyles bookshop

    In 2012 Foyles bookshop will host the Academy's patron visits in the Gallery at their flagship store on Charing Cross Road.

  • NAW First Page Masterclass Episode 1 The King's Jockey

    The NAW website is hosting a series of six short videos to give an idea of how the unique NAW public edit works. The first text is the short prelude to The King's Jockey by NAW member (2011) Lesley Gray. This text was first Masterclassed in London in April 2011.
