Writers and Events 2014

Wednesday, 08 January 2014

The National Academy of Writing's 2014 series of events start at Cambridge on Tuesday 18th February at Pembroke College in Cambridge. The event will feature the NAW Public Edit, with NAW Director Richard Beard, and the guest writer is Kazuo Ishiguro. Entrance is free and everyone is welcome.

The popular combination of Public Edit and guest writer then continues as a monthly event, with tickets available at the Eventbrite Box Office, at London's Free Word Centre on 27th February, 24th March, 19th May and 16th June.

NAW is delighted to announce that the speaker for February is the novelist Jill Dawson, whose new book The Tell-Tale Heart is published by Sceptre.

In March the novelist and short-story writer Alison MacLeod will be speaking about her method as a writer. Her latest novel Unexploded was longlisted for the Man Booker Prize 2013.

After a break for Easter, NAW is back at the Free Word in May for a one-off event where the Public Edit will be followed by Naomi Wood, whose new novel Mrs Hemingway will be everywhere this year.
