Terms and Conditions 10-Week Course 2014

Monday, 30 September 2013

Writers selected for this course become members of the National Academy of Writing. Membership is indefinite, and members are entitled to attend subsequent selected NAW events, such as the NAW Creative Writing Course in an Evening, free of charge. There are no annual fees for membership.

Refunds will be given in full in the unlikely event that a course is cancelled. The first instalment of the course fees (£500) is payable by Wednesday 24th September. If a writer needs to cancel before the start of the course, we reserve the right to retain the fee.

Payments should be made by transfer to The National Academy of Writing. The second instalment of the course fees (£500) is due by Wednesday 5th November. The fee may also be paid in a single instalment by 24th September.

No writer may obtain a refund once he/she has attended the first three sessions after payment. To discontinue the course, a request must be made in writing to the Course Director. The Director has the right to dismiss from a course any course member who is disruptive.

There is a formal opportunity to give NAW staff and Board members feedback on the NAW experience at the end of the 10-Week Course. For any other concerns, NAW members can speak directly to the Director at any time.

All information regarding the NAW course is correct at the time of publication. We reserve the right to make changes to courses but will always endeavor to replace visiting speakers with writers or industry professionals of equal experience and standing.

We cannot accept responsibility for any loss, damage or expense sustained by NAW members as a result of an event or circumstance whether arising from natural cause, human agency, or beyond the Academy's control otherwise.

The National Academy of Writing is led by practising writers and has extensive contacts in the publishing industry through the NAW Board of Directors, Patrons and Partners. Admission to the course as a member of The National Academy of Writing does not guarantee publication.
